Accessibility adaptations on city buses
Egged's city buses are designed to be accessible to people with all types of disabilities. They feature a low floor, step-free entry, and wide aisles.
Accessibility features on city buses:

A wide entrance door, adapted for wheelchair access.

The international accessibility symbol ♿ appears on the front of the bus and near the wheelchair accessible door.

A lifting device (ramp) installed at the second door for the entry and exit of passengers with wheelchairs, including a safety mechanism that prevents the bus from moving when the ramp is open.

A designated anchoring area with a seat belt for anchoring a wheelchair.
-
A tilt mechanism that allows the driver to lower the height of the bus on the curb and make it easier to get on and off.

An internal and external public address system that provides voice information about the bus stop name and line number.

Digital displays showing the current, next and upcoming stations.

Stop buttons, hand-grips and protrusions in a conspicuous yellow color, for people with visual impairments.

Warning stripes in visual contrast across the entire width of the stair thresholds at entrances and exits.

In the front of the bus, three designated seating places allocated for people with disabilities or difficulty moving (who do not use a wheelchair), including one place designated for a blind person with a guide dog.
Accessibility adaptations on intercity buses
Egged's intercity buses feature a high floor, stairs at the entrance, and narrow aisles. According to regulations, they are required to be sensory accessible, but are not required to be accessible to passengers in wheelchairs.
Accessibility features on intercity buses:

The entrances, exits, and ends of the stairs are marked across the entire width of the threshold with warning stripes in visual contrast.

Hand-grips and stop buttons are marked with visual contrast. Stop buttons will also be tactilely contrast to their surroundings.

As close as possible to the bus entrance, two seats are allocated for people with disabilities. The seats are marked with accessibility symbols. And two adjacent seats, without footrests in front of them, for a person with a disability accompanied by a service animal, with the designated space for it being on the floor in front of the aforementioned seats, which will be marked with accessibility symbols for the visually impaired.

Intercity buses with wheelchair lifts
Egged is a partner in a pilot program to make intercity public transportation accessible, in collaboration with the Ministry of Transport and the National Authority for Public Transport. As part of the program, accessible intercity buses equipped with an electric elevator for the safe loading and unloading of wheelchair-bound passengers have been integrated into the service lines.
Please note: This type of bus can only accommodate one wheelchair passenger. Therefore, traveling on these routes requires advance reservation.

Wheelchair or mobility scooter restrictions on the bus
A passenger using a wheelchair or mobility scooter can board a city bus, which has a ramp installed at the rear door.
Dimensions of a wheelchair or mobility scooter on a city bus:

In addition to city buses (all of which are wheelchair accessible via a ramp), the Ministry of Transport, in collaboration with Egged, is operating a trial on intercity routes, in which a number of buses have been equipped with an electric elevator that allows wheelchairs to be loaded in a safe and accessible manner.

Training for drivers and service providers in Egged, on accessibility for people with disabilities
Egged drivers undergo training in which they learn what defines a person with a disability and how to provide them with accessible service. The drivers are exposed to the difficulties of each disability and how they can help. In addition, each driver undergoes practical experience training, such as opening a bus ramp, sitting in a wheelchair, and boarding the bus with him.
Service representatives by telephone, fax, text, Facebook, etc. also undergo training to provide accessible service according to the training program.
Booking a wheelchair-accessible ride from Ramon Airport
Lines 32 and 31 to and from neighborhoods in Eilat are operated by accessible city buses, meaning that they have space for a wheelchair and there is no need to reserve a seat in advance. Lines 30 and 50 from the south coast and hotels are operated by intercity buses that are not accessible to people in wheelchairs, but accessible service on these lines can be pre-booked.

The following details must be specified in the reservation: line number, boarding station, boarding time, personal details, flight number.
The travel time can be updated from the existing schedule of line 30 or line 50 (Airport - Eilat). The schedules and stops are detailed on the Journey Planning Page on the Website and at the *2800 Service Center.
If an accessible service order is not arranged in advance, an accessible bus can be ordered, which will pick up the customer within about half an hour of the time of the reservation.
Guide dog or service animal for people with disabilities on the bus
A blind passenger with a guide dog - may board the bus without restrictions.
A passenger with a disability (other than blindness) who is assisted by a service animal (usually a dog) – may board the bus under the following conditions:

The passenger must carry a valid certificate from the service animal training center.

The service animal must be properly identified. If it is a guide dog, it will be identified with an appropriate vest.
A trainer or handler for a guide dog in training - may board a bus with a guide dog in training under the following conditions:

Discounts for people with disabilities on public transport
To redeem discounts on public transport fares, an appropriate profile must be set up on the Rav-Kav card, at one of the Al-HaKav service stations throughout the country, or in one of the payment apps.

Accessibility in Egged public transportation facilities
Guide dogs for the blind and service animals for people with disabilities can enter Egged's transport facilities. Eligible persons can be exempted from the queue upon presentation of a certificate.

There are several public transport facilities, some of which are owned by the Nitsba Group, in which electronic guidance systems for people with visual impairments have been installed.
There are two types of such systems from two different manufacturers:
Step-Hear: installed in Tiberias, Nahariya, Acre, Safed.
RightHear: installed in Safed, Nahariya, Acre, Merkasit Hamifratz, Rishon LeZion.
Accessibility arrangements at service stations
The Rav-Kav stands, ticket offices, information desks, and Lost and Found Departments at Egged's central transportation facilities are accessible to people with disabilities as detailed below:

The automatic devices allow you to top up your Rav Kav cards with money and contracts.

Near the devices, there is a sign written in simple and clear language, with explanations and illustrations on how to operate.

Payment is by credit card and in some devices also in cash

Each batch of devices has at least one accessible device for a passenger with mobility impairments. This device will be at an appropriate height, with room to maneuver next to it and an accessible path leading to it.
Accessibility of Egged's Website
Egged attaches great importance to the accessibility of its services to the public. Egged's website was built and edited with the goal of enabling, as far as possible, a easy, accessible and equitable browsing experience for people with disabilities, including those who use assistive technologies.
Compliance with regulations and standards
The Website meets the requirements of Section C: Internet Services, in the Equal Rights for People with Disabilities (Service Accessibility Adjustments) Regulations, 2013, which refer to Israeli Standard 5568, based on the W3C's WCAG2.0 international guidelines document, at accessibility level AA (subject to adjustments and changes required by the Israeli standard).
